Some forms of automation (such as spell check) are helpful. But an overreliance on AI extensions that alter formatting and word choice may hinder the growth of students' writing abilities.
The lack of consistent guidelines from professors has led to inconsistency in AI usage for writing assignments.
Students are encouraged to engage in collaborative writing and seek feedback from peers and professors to strengthen writing skills.

AI 911 Operators in Austin
The Austin Police Department is exploring the use of AI technology to improve its 911 operations, following a special report that highlighted Denver 911's consideration of similar technology.
The AI component, developed by Carbyne, uses geofencing to identify callers near an ongoing incident and informs them if first responders are already on the way.
This helps reduce response and dispatch times by freeing up the lines for emergencies that have not yet been addressed. APD will seek feedback from Denver on the technology and, if implemented, the city will need to establish specific policies governing the use of artificial intelligence in the 911 system.

COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHT
This week we’d like to shine the light on Peace Chen the founder of Temperal.
One of their products called PhotoSynth transforms and caches images, coupled with a CDN for lightning fast distribution anywhere in the world.
Content creators can leverage PhotoSynth’s AI image generation to design original content for projects, saving time while offering enhanced flexibility over stock images.
Together these allow you to create content for use on production web and mobile apps at scale.
That’s all for now, folks!
